cable assembly

when manufacturing a cable assembly also known as a wiring harness, the cables and wires are cut to length this can vary from a few centimetres to many meters. Markers are placed on the cables for identification purposes, the ends of the wires are stripped back to expose the wire then either connectors or crimps are fixed to them, there are many types of connectors which are an electro-mechanical device, plug and socket connectors are usually made up of a male plug and a female receptacle. Plugs generally have one or more pins that are inserted into openings in the mating socket. The connection between the two parts must be sufficient to make a good electrical connection and complete the circuit. When the cable harness is complete it is generally continuity tested to ensure the correct pins are connected to the correct wires.

  1. Cable assemblies have made our life easier by organizing the structure of cabling used in modern machines. Nowadays, when the use of different types of complex machines and automated devices is common, the importance of cable assemblies is evident. Thanks a lot.
